Do I Qualify for a Medical Marijuana in North Dakota?
North Dakota has many medical conditions that qualify for medical marijuana. Before starting your application and choosing a psychiatric provider at Psych 180, ensure your debilitating medical condition is on the list of qualifying conditions we treat:
• Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
• Anorexia
• Anxiety Disorder
• Autism
• Bulimia
• (Refer to ND Health and Human Services for a comprehensive list of debilitating medical conditions per NDCC 19-24.1)
Step 1: Begin The Registration Process
Create an account online account: ND Medical Marijuana Patients, Health and Human Services.
MUST HAVE items to complete your application:
• Photo
• NORTH DAKOTA STATE ISSUED ID
• Name and email of certifying healthcare provider
Step 2: Provider Certification
A medical evaluation is required to process your application. Important information about your appointment is outlined below.
1. Have your MEDICAL OR MENTAL HEALTH RECORDS, MEDICATION LIST (ask your pharmacy to fax), AND/OR TREATMENT RECORDS (example: therapy) for the last 12 months emailed to psych180@psych180.org or faxed to 701-291-4747. Complete this step five (5) days before your appointment.
2. Schedule your appointment online. Complete your intake. Bring your North Dakota ID to your appointment.
3. A Psych 180 provider will conduct your in-person evaluation. Please provide relevant medical records that list at least one of the debilitating medical conditions that we treat.
4. If you qualify, a Psych 180 provider may provide you with a written certification for medical marijuana on your first visit. Psych 180 offers a discounted rate of $250 for this evaluation and insurance will not be billed for this service.
5. The fee is discounted to $150 if you have an existing provider-patient relationship with Psych 180 (not a new patient).
6. Psych 180 will provide your ongoing and ethical care. If any follow-up appointment is for medical marijuana certification, your insurance will not be billed. Otherwise, we can bill insurance for all other mental health appointments.
Step 3: Paying for Your Medical Marijuana Card
Make two payments: the online application fee ($25) and an evaluation or follow-up fee as outlined above.
